The Warmth of A Mother's Love.

"Mommy,  you are as warm as a camel's butt."  ..As she nuzzles her noggin in to the crook of my arm as we watch a movie on the tube.

Philosophy Lesson #2: Love, a love that a child knows, is first learned from their parents. We want to teach our children love isn't complicated, it something as simple as what's conveyed on a rainy Sunday morning when there is nothing to do but nothing. It's warm, it makes you smile, and it's always available.  When you ask yourself why love always seems to be elusive just ask your child to describe it.  I guarantee  it will make you smile.. or snort the Diet Coke out of your nose like mine did.

Pick Your Friends Wisely.

As a parent it is sometimes necessary to alert your children of foreign bodies in their nasal cavity, i.e. "boogies". I advised Isabella that she indeed had one camping out in hers and I reach for it. ( it's ok, parents are allowed to do this as to bar their children from public embarrassment so zip it!)

"Leave him alone, he is my friend."

Blank stare.

Philosophy lesson #1: I've always told my daughter to befriend everyone. I suppose inanimate nasal objects are included. I'm happy to know she is indiscriminate towards all.
